Snare for Windows - Snare for Windows Version 3.0.0 is now available. This new version fixes some bugs noticed on some Windows OS versions.
NISPOM and PCI An appendix to the Snare Server User's Guide now contains guidance on how to comply with NISPOM and PCI Data Security Standard
Snare Server Version 4.1 is now available. This new version includes a single CD installation for all packages and the OS.

Snare for Squid Snare Agent for Squid Web Servers
Snare for Squid provides a remote distribution facility for Squid proxy server logs, and is known to run on most Unix variations, including Linux, Solaris, AIX, Tru64, and Irix.
Snare for Squid can be used to send data to either a remote or local SYSLOG server, or the Snare Server for centralised collection, analysis, and archival.

Snare for Squid is available under the terms of the GNU Public Licence.

Installation
  • Install the snaresquid binary in the directory /usr/bin
    • tar czf snaresquid-1.2.tar.gz;cd snaresquid-1.2;make install, or
    • rpm -Uvh http://www.intersectalliance.com/projects/SnareSquid/Downloads/snaresquid-1.2-1.i386.rpm
  • Modify the /etc/init.d/snaresquid file, and set your default destination server, and syslog destination, as appropriate.
