Snare for Notes Snare Agent for Lotus Notes
Snare for Lotus Notes has been deprecated, and is no longer under active development. API changes in the most recent version of Lotus Notes has made it very difficult to retain the agents functionality.

However, we have developed a more effective (and cross-version / cross-platform) method of retrieving the same information, by directly polling several notes databases via the Domino web server. This functionality has been integrated into our 'Snare Server' software. Unfortunately, the method we use, is not suitable for integration into a stand-alone agent.

Snare for Lotus Notes binaries, and source code, are available below, and should still be suitable for older versions of Lotus Notes.

Snare for Lotus Notes provides a remote distribution, and configuration checking tool for the Lotus Notes application, interfacing with the underlying Notes "log.nsf" file, and user/group and access control application programming interfaces.
Snare for Notes can send data to either a syslog server, or the Snare Server for analysis and storage.

The Lotus Notes application writes log data to a variety of 'notes' within the 'log.nsf' database. Snare for Lotus Notes regularly polls these notes, pulls the data out of the database, and then forwards the data to a local or remote syslog server, or a remote Snare Server, allowing security administrators to implement a centralised audit collection, analysis and archive facility with minimal audit client resource utilisation.

Snare for Lotus Notes is available under the terms of the GNU Public Licence.

Documentation

Documentation for Snare for Notes is installed as part of the package, but a copy is available from this link.

If you have configured Lotus Notes using a non-default path, you may find that Snare has some trouble finding the notes libraries. Click on this link for a solution.
